Eagle Projects of Pittsford Troop 167

Joseph Kapfer

COMPLETED

Hello Friends and Troop!

I will be building an outdoor chapel for the Mary Magdalene Church on Main Street in East Rochester, NY.  This project involves clearing an area behind their main parking lot, lining a circular area with 6 inch slices cut from tree trunks, and filling this area with gravel.  We will also be building 4 benches for worshipers to sit and an alter from which the message is to be delivered.  Finally, the whole area will be surrounded by mulch to prevent wends from growing.

Eagle Project - Daniel Waldman - Victor Hiking Trail Boardwalk

Hello Friends and Troop!

I am working on my Eagle Scout project. It is a raised boardwalk that will allow hikers in Lehigh Valley Park to cross a marshy area that is often flooded. This project is somewhat expensive due to the metal stanchions that we will be using, as well as the length of the boardwalk (150 feet). In total, the entire project will cost around $3000. The money will be used to purchase supplies for the project. This is a very costly project, but when it rains, the area that the boardwalk will cross is filled with almost a foot of water, making the train inaccessible to hikers and bikers. Having this boardwalk constructed will allow for easier crossing of the marsh. To help with the fundraising I have set up a GoFundMe account, run by Victor Hiking Trails. I was hoping for a donation of five or ten dollars per person and we can help the hikers cross the marsh safely and without getting wet.

Hello Friends and Troop!

For my Eagle project I am working on a building that stores gear used by the McQuaid Cross Country Invitational as well as other teams and Monroe County Parks. The exterior paint is peeling badly and the interior is unorganized. For my project, we are painting the exterior, doing some repairs, and reorganizing part of the interior. On the afternoon of the 23rd we'll be painting the exterior which is a combination of wood and cinderblock brick. The County will powerwash the building before the 23rd so we will be ready to paint at 1PM! Some Eagle Scouts from my cross country team will be joining us.

Hello Friends and Troop!

My name is Luke Strassner and I am a Boy Scout from Troop 167 in Pittsford, New York. I am currently working on my Eagle project. My project is going to benefit Lollypop Farm, which is the local Humane Society that cares for animals in need. I am creating a memorial garden for a pair of abused dogs and the late volunteer who cared for and walked these dogs. I am going to clear the overgrown area shown in the photo, and fill it in with gravel to create a seating area. I will put in a bench and make a concrete base to hold a water dish. There is an existing plaque dedicated to the dogs, but it is in bad condition and will need to be replaced. The money will be used to buy the plaque for the dogs, the gravel, the bench, and other miscellaneous items needed to complete the project.

This project is important to Lollypop Farm because they wanted to create a memorial to this volunteer who was so dedicated to helping animals. This project is important to me because I love animals and have had dogs as pets for my entire life. It is also important to me because it is the final step towards becoming an Eagle Scout, an award that I have worked towards for over 5 years during my scouting career. The project is going to be executed on September 10-11, 2016. Any extra funds that do not get used towards my project will be donated to Lollypop Farm. Thank you for taking your time and reading about my project. I would appreciate any amount you could donate.
